Port Deposit Chamber of Commerce has announced that the annual "Ragin' On The River" boat race event will not take place this year.

Ragin on the river is following similar decisions made by iconic races held in Wildwood, Morgan City, Raleigh and Lake Hopatcong.

The economy is the driving factor behind these towns and Port Deposit’s decision to skip this year’s race.

Port Deposit Chamber of Commerce Vice President Tom Knight says “The Chamber of Commerce felt that by forcing a race this year, in this economy, would threaten our ability to have future races. Which we fully intend to do next year”
