Welcome to the Official Web Site for the Town of Port Deposit
The Town of Port Deposit is located on Route 222, between the majestic, granite cliffs of Bainbridge, and the east bank of the mighty Susquehanna River. Our location south of the Conowingo Dam and just north of the “head of the Chesapeake” provides for substantial recreational opportunities, including boating, fishing, bird watching, and hiking just to name a few.
For those who enjoy history you will be pleased to know that our entire town is on the National Historic Registry. Please visit our History page to read about the Town’s exciting past.
At last, spring has found Port Deposit. Bees are buzzing, buds are bursting and a couple of our residents have already jumped into action to beautify our town.
The next time you pass through the center of town be on the lookout for Lois Ashworth and Carol Hopkins. Carol can be seen at various locations along Main Street armed with her broom sweeping sidewalks and curbs. Lois has adopted the flower beds at the Artifacts Garden and has readied the beds for spring and summer blooms.
Thank you for your efforts ladies...Well Done!
