February 20, 2026 - Town Boat Dock Closed Until Further Notice
Please be advised that the Town boat dock is temporarily closed for repairs until further notice. This closure does not affect the boat launch, which remains open for use. We appreciate your patience and understanding and will provide updates as they become available.

Maryland House & Garden Pilgrimage
Coming to Port Deposit on May 2, 2027
The Town of Port Deposit, in partnership with the Donaldson Brown Center, has the opportunity to participate in the 2027 Maryland House & Garden Pilgrimage on May 2, 2027.
We are seeking 5 to 7 historic locations and one local restaurant, as well as planning committee members and day-of volunteers.

Town Council Meeting Summary
At the May 5, 2026 Town Council Legislative Meeting, Council reviewed public safety activity, infrastructure and project updates, financial and administrative matters, community concerns, and upcoming Town events.
Project & Infrastructure Updates
Council approved the bid from SC Electrical Services for the electric service project at the Visitor Center/Gas House. Archaeological oversight will be required due to the historic easement on the property. Council also received updates on dock repairs, the Rock Run Overlook Parcel 60 Forest Stand Delineation Report, the 43 S. Main Street stormwater project, Marina Park planning, southern gateway infrastructure funding efforts, and the Rock Run embankment project.
Public Safety & Community Updates
Cpl. Tyler Price reported on Sheriff’s Office activity for April, including full coverage of approved patrol shifts, traffic enforcement, calls for service, parking complaints, and several local incidents. Council requested continued attention to Granite Avenue due to dirt bike and moped activity and vehicles blocking the roadway. Public comment included updates from Water Witch Fire Company regarding current and future operational needs, as well as concerns about parking, property maintenance, and sidewalk and weed maintenance.
Staff Updates
Public Works and Code Enforcement Administrator Dan Jamison reported on seasonal maintenance, Town Hall maintenance, lighting repairs, Marina Park pier repairs, sign replacement, and code enforcement follow-up. Treasurer Patti Gray reported that April bank accounts were reconciled and provided a current fiscal year budget update. Town Administrator Vicky Rinkerman reported on Historic Area Commission and Planning Commission approvals, Public Works hiring status, tax sale property matters, grant activity, and ongoing infrastructure projects.

Approved Resolutions 07-2026 through 10-2026, updating required plans for the Maryland Community Development Block Grant Program.
