GENERAL OBLIGATION DEBT FOR
STORMWATER DRAINAGE PROJECT–RACE STREET/GRANITE AVENUE
The Mayor and Council (the “Council”) of The Town of Port Deposit (the “Town”) will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 7:15 p.m. in Town Hall, 64 S. Main Street, Port Deposit, MD, concerning Ordinance 2021-06, which was introduced on October 5, 2021. Individuals may participate in the public hearing in person or by video conference or audio as described below.
The Ordinance authorizes the Town to issue (i) (A) general obligation bonds and (B) general obligation bond anticipation notes (for interim financing purposes), each in an original aggregate principal amount not exceeding $245,000, to finance, reimburse or refinance costs of a project generally identified as the Stormwater Drainage Project-Race Street/Granite Avenue and related costs, and (ii) general obligation bonds to refund any bonds issued pursuant to the authority of such Ordinance, subject to the limitations regarding refunding bonds in such Ordinance. Details of any such obligations not specified in the Ordinance will be determined or provided for by resolution of the Council. The Town’s full faith and credit and unlimited taxing power will be pledged to pay debt service on any such issued obligations. The Ordinance expresses the expectation that any such general obligation bonds will be issued to the United States of America through a financing program of the United States Department of Agriculture but allows for any series of the authorized bonds to be issued to one or more additional parties. A copy of the Ordinance is available on the Town website at: www.portdeposit.org, or at Town Hall. The public is invited to ask questions and to give testimony during the public hearing.
