At the March 3, 2026 Town Council Legislative Meeting, Council reviewed project progress, infrastructure needs, and operational priorities, and discussed next steps on several ongoing initiatives.
Project & Infrastructure Updates
Council reviewed updates on several ongoing projects, including the Marina Park redevelopment, the Rock Run embankment stabilization project, and the Granite Avenue Bridge. Marina Park redevelopment plans are moving forward; residents can view the Marina Park project map here: View Map. After reviewing bid results for the Rock Run project, Council agreed the bid package should be revised and re-advertised in hopes of attracting more bidders and reducing overall project costs.
Council also discussed a WILMAPCO transportation study request focused on safety and accessibility along Susquehanna River Road and received updates on stormwater improvements at 43 S. Main Street and the Granite Avenue/Race Street stormwater project.
Community & Operations
Council reviewed a request from Granite Run Taproom to add a seasonal shade sail for outdoor seating and reviewed safety and installation considerations. Council also discussed an electric reimbursement agreement with a resident for electricity used to power Town surveillance equipment and a motion-activated light, including a request for an increase and next steps to obtain equipment wattage information from the camera servicing company to update the reimbursement amount. In addition, Council received an update on the public boat dock, including that the floating portion was displaced during a recent storm, has since been recovered with assistance from Water Witch Fire Company, and that repair estimates are being obtained.
Council also confirmed plans for the Town’s annual Spring Cleanup event, which will tentatively take place Saturday, April 11, 2026 (9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.) at the Maintenance Shop parking lot and will include bulk trash dumpsters, paper shredding, and scrap metal collection.
Staff Updates
Updates were also provided by Public Works and Code Enforcement Administrator Dan Jamison, Treasurer Patti Gray, and Town Administrator Vicky Rinkerman regarding ongoing operations, budget status, staffing, and active project coordination.
